In December 1998 parents of children with Down Syndrome met and decided, with the help of Kiwanis Club of Georgetown and the Penang  Hospital, to form a Support Group in Penang (Malaysia). The main aims of this Support Group are as follows:

• To offer support and encouragement for parents and families of children with Down Syndrome.
• To provide assistance and facilities to Individuals with Down Syndrome to enable them to contribute to society.
• To educate the community about Down Syndrome and highlight the needs of persons with Down Syndrome.
• To gather experience, support and resources in order to form the Penang Down Syndrome Association.  This aim was achieved on the 7th September 1999 when the Association was registered.

As at  17 February, 2011 236 Families are registered with the Association .

2. Food and Fun Fair organized and held by Penang Club (Behind Citibank)

Sunday 6th March, from 11 am to 3 pm. 

There will be more than 60 food items, games, rides and other special sales, mostly sponsored by caring members of the Club and people in Penang in General. Tickets are available from any committee member or from the club. Please be there. It is to help for the Education of our children in our Centre.
