The public exhibition ‘Down Syndrome Awareness Week’ which was held from July 24th to 29th,2000 at the Penang Hospital Foyer was a huge success. We hope that the parents and the general public have a better insight into what ‘Down Syndrome’ is after the exhibition. The next major event coming up will be the annual concert at the end of October or early November 2000. Children who wish to participate in putting up an item at the concert under the PDSA please contact Ms Tan at 017-4791963.

We have received offers of training from the PSDC in Bayan Lepas, Penang for teenagers/adults with learning disabilities and would like to form a sub-committee of interested parents. Training will be provided on the PSDC grounds and will cover various forms of training, eg computer, carpentry, dancing etc, etc.... to be decided by the sub committee later on. The sub-committee will meet later at our office in Kompleks Masyarakat Penyayang to decide on the training courses required. Please contact Puan Sharifah at tel 2826248  or Ms Tan at 017-4791963 if parents are interested to form this sub-committee.                                                                                                                   tsb
