As members of the public, we are deeply concerned that Persons with Disabilities and their Families continue to face many problems and hardships in their daily lives such as living in poverty, finding appropriate education, using public transport which is not disabled friendly, facing physical barriers everywhere in the built environment and social and economic barriers when applying for jobs, bank accounts, insurance protection, etc. They will continue to be discriminated and prevented from participating fully in society if we do not have laws to protect their basic human rights and well-being.
